Coronado Public Library, in partnership with the Coronado Island Film Festival, presents FILM FORUM CORONADO, taking place the first and third Wednesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. in the library's Winn Room. Film expert Ralph DeLauro provides a brief introduction to each film and leads a discussion afterwards, often including pointers about how lighting or camera angles contribute to a scene’s mood or propel the story.

February 1: Day for Night (La Nuit Americaine) (1973, 115 min)

Francois Truffaut celebrates the chaos and creativity  of moviemaking in his irreverent love letter to the cinema. Truffaut stars as a seasoned director of a tawdry melodrama who must navigate  the off-screen dramas that swirl around him - an impetuous leading man (Jean-Pierre Leandro), a fading diva (Valentina Cortese) and a troubled starlet (Jacqueline Bisset). French with English subtitles.
