Event Details

The 2023 Summer Festival Concerts, sponsored by the Friends of the Coronado Public Library and Hotel Del Coronado, will take place every other Friday from June 16-August 25. Doors will open 15 minutes prior to each performance.

The Taryn Donath Trio will lead the audience on a musical adventure, playing '60s soul jazz, funk, jump/swing, Latin, and their own term of "Beatnik blues."

Phil Pardell, Drums: Pardell was bit by the drum bug at a young age and immediately developed a hunger and excitement for the instrument. His thirst for knowledge was not quenched easily, and he wanted a piece of every genre he came across. Pushing his own boundaries and versatility has always guided and continues to guide Pardell's journey. He lives in Southern California and has a full load of work performing, teaching, recording and mixing, and is co-host to Korey “Kingston” Horn on the Drum Brigade Podcast.

Kyler Jakubowski, Guitar: Jakubowski is a blues and soul guitar player from North Carolina, now living in San Diego. His style is influenced by Peter Green, B.B. King, and Jimi Hendrix. In addition to playing as a solo artist, he is featured in the bands Gypsy Sally, Good Gravy, and Moonshine Soul.

Taryn Donath, Piano: Donath is a two-time San Diego Music Award Winner. She is a pianist who plays soul jazz, boogie, funk and blues. Donath has been playing professionally for almost three decades, since the age of 12, in the San Diego area and worldwide.
