Program Description

Event Details

Your child is invited to participate in a staged reading of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol! Using an abridged script, together on Zoom we will read through the story of Ebenezer Scrooge as he finds the true meaning of the holiday spirit! The play will be available online for you to download and print, in order to familiarize yourself with the story and refer to during the program. Parts will be assigned before the staged reading. We will be using and learning about "foley" (foley is the reproduction of everyday sound effects that are added to films, videos and other media in post-production to enchance the show) as well as other theatrical sounds as well, during the staged reading!

No acting experience needed. Participants will be guided by the show director, library staff member and experienced theater instructor Andrea Gonzales. Everyone gets a part! Join us for some pre-holiday fun with one of the most classic tales of the season! Geared to grades K-12th.

Please register below for the Zoom link. The abridged script is enclosed with this calendar description.
