Biography & Memoir Book Club: The Sakura Obsession

After falling in love with cherry trees, sukura, on a trip to Japan, Collingwood Ingram was devastated to discover that many varieties of the cherry tree were on the verge of extinction on a return visit several years later, including the Great White Cherry. Ingram, who had managed to take several cuts of different varieties of the tree home, made it his mission to make sure these trees were saved to be enjoyed by people today. The Sakura Obsession, by Naoko Abe, is Ingram's story and the history of the cherry tree.
