"The Changeling"
**due to possible dark themes, this performance is recommended for adults and children ages 10 and up**
The Changeling, by puppetry artist Tania Yager of Twisted Heart Puppetworks, is a Celtic-inspired story of a city couple who move to the Irish countryside with their newborn child. Unaware that their new cottage is on land that is occupied by The Fae, they ignore the advice of neighbors urging the use of protective charms. When a bereft Faerie Queen who has recently lost her own baby spies the child, she instantly becomes enamored. There is nothing to stop her from easing her own broken heart and she spirits the child away, leaving an unlikely heroine in charge of finding out how to remedy the whole debacle. This piece boasts 24 uniquely handcrafted shadow puppets, live singing, and a dark Irish tale.
It should be noted that The Changeling includes scenes of grief and death, and is appropriate for families with children age 10 and up. This play will last 40 minutes. A talkback with the audience will take place after the show.
