Event Details

Enjoy a performance of classical favorites by pianist Gabriel Longuinhos on Friday, November 18 at 1pm in the Winn Room.

Longuinhos is originally from Brazil. He went to music school at the University of Campinas, where he spent six years under the guidance of renowned Brazilian pianist Maria José Carrasqueira, and earned a B.A. in classical piano performance. In 2013 Longuinhos moved to Albuquerque to study with Juilliard alumna Pamela Pyle, who played in the studio of legendary violin pedagogue Dorothy DeLay for over a decade. After graduating with a M.M. and a graduate certificate from the University of New Mexico, Longuinhos moved to San Diego, where he freelances and teaches. In 2021 he also joined Robyn Avalon's Contemporary Alexander School training program, to explore Alexander technique and its potential. His main passions are playing music with others, hiking in urban areas, a fascination with fire escapes on the sides of buildings, cooking, and, as he calls it, "metaphysics/spirituality/woowoo."

This concert is free to attend thanks to the support of the Coronado Public Library. Doors will open 15 minutes prior to the performance.

*We have had a change of performer for this date as Irina Bessonova will not be able to perform. Gabriel Longuinhos will be performing.*
