Now in its fifth year, the Coronado Community READ is designed to unite the community through the shared reading of a single book. The program encourages discussion and participation in planned community-building events around the theme of the title, selected by you, the readers.

Nominations for the 2021 READ were accepted from the community throughout the month of September, 2020. The Coronado Community READ Selection Committee, comprised of Coronado Public Library staff, community partners and local book club members, read all nominated titles, applied the established criteria to narrow the field down to 10 titles, and finally voted on the five finalists at the annual -- and this time virtual -- Book Lover's meeting.

The Community voted for its favorite in December, 2020. The winning title was announced at the Coronado City Council Meeting on January 5, 2021.
