The zookeepers of Warsaw Zoo, husband and wife Jan and Antonina Zabinski, saved hundreds of lives during World War II by hiding people, from the Nazis, in empty animal cages. They played a part of the Polish resistance while still caring for the animals that survived a bombing that destroyed Warsaw and the zoo. The Zookeeper's Wife is their story.
Through Their Eyes Book Club meets on the second Wednesday of each month.
