Event Details

Get trained and paid to take notes at South Bay government/community meetings.

Join us in collaboration with inewsource for a training session starting at 6 p.m., to become a Documenter. By participating, you'll also be entered into a gift card raffle!

Upon completing the training, you'll have the opportunity to take on note-taking assignments at public meetings and receive compensation ranging from $17 to $24 per hour, with travel expenses covered.

ALL ARE WELCOME! We are particularly eager to engage:

  • Residents hailing from Imperial Beach, Chula Vista, National City, and San Diego, notably those from Barrio Logan, South East, and San Ysidro.
  • Individuals from Black, Brown, and Indigenous backgrounds, as well as members of their marginalized communities.
  • Those who aspire to uphold local government accountability and harbor an interest in journalism.
