Austin Durant from Fermenters Club will take you into the world of pickling, fermented-style! You'll learn the many health benefits of consuming fermented foods like pickles, and he will show you how simple it is to make a fermented dill pickle. Durant will even reveal some secret techniques to ensure a foolproof, perfect crispy pickle!

Bio:

Austin Durant has been playing with his food his whole life, and fermenting it for more than 12 years. In 2011, he studied at Sandor Katz's five-day Fermentation Residency Program in middle Tennessee. That same year, he founded Fermenters Club in his home town of San Diego. Austin’s personal passion and mission (and that of the Fermenters Club) is to teach people why and how to make fermented foods at home, and to create communities connected through our guts.

Durant has taught over 150 hands-on classes on a wide variety of food fermentation traditions such as sauerkraut, pickles, kimchi, kombucha, miso, and seasonal specialties. He has published more than 150 recipes (mostly fermented) on his website, fermentersclub.com. He also created on-demand, self-paced food fermentation mastery courses through Fermenters Club Academy. Durant has also produced daylong fermentation festivals in San Diego and Portland, Oregon, with more than 1,000 attendees in each city.
