Coronado Public Library, in partnership with the Coronado Island Film Festival, presents Film Forum Coronado, taking place the first and third Wednesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. (new start time!) in the library's Winn Room. Film expert Ralph DeLauro provides a brief introduction to each film and leads a discussion afterwards, often including pointers about how lighting or camera angles contribute to a scene’s mood or propel the story.

March 16:

SHADOW OF A DOUBT (1943, 108 minutes)

Alfred Hitchcock brings a bumper crop of shivers in his subversive, tightrope taut thrust into the darkness in the heart of small-town America. A world-wise adventurer (Joseph Cotten) seeks refuge with his sister’s family in Santa Rosa. Soon his namesake niece (Teresa Wright) becomes suspicious of her cryptic uncle. Co-written by Thornton Wilder.
