Gone Tomorrow’s musicians have come and gone over the years, hence the band name, but we strive to maintain great musicianship and entertaining songs. Over the last twenty years or more we’ve seen a lot of changes. The current lineup for the band has many, many decades of musical experience between us all, and includes Dale Desmuke – guitar & vocals, Richard Burkett – mandolin and vocals, Tom Dillon – fiddle, and Given Harrison – bass and vocals.
Richard started Gone Tomorrow and has played mandolin and guitar in bluegrass bands in Indiana and California since the 1970s, including Hwy 52. Dale grew up playing country music in the clubs of Texas and has been a part of Gone Tomorrow from the earliest years, bringing his encyclopedic knowledge of songs to the band. You may see him at Nate’s Garden Grill or playing with Given’s band. Tom is the newest member of Gone Tomorrow and has been a fiddler in several country bands in San Diego. He learned his chops in the Chicago area before moving to San Diego and brings some great fiddle playing to Gone Tomorrow. Given has played music with many groups in Southern California since 1974 and is the main force behind his Drought Tolerant Bluegrass band. He’s a multi-instrumentalist, and the in-demand bassist for several bluegrass bands.
And don’t be surprised if the next time you see Gone Tomorrow if it’s a different variation on this lineup – that’s our name!
