Event Details

We've all been there. We receive a beautiful orchid in full bloom as a gift. Then the flowers die, and there are no more blooms, and we wonder - do I hang on to this stick in a pot, waiting for it to re-bloom, and how long will it take, until we tire of waiting and toss the plant out. Well, good news - orchids can and do re-bloom, and attendees at this program will learn the secrets. Led by orchid expert Chuck McClung, who will also sell and sign copies of his book, How Orchids Rebloom

McClung holds a master's degree in botany and has worked in commercial greenhouses and retail nurseries to learn everything he could about plants. These days he leads seminars and workshops on gardening topics and advises people via garden and landscape consultations. His self-professed life's mission is to help others solve their gardening dilemmas. (He's also really good at chess and facilitates the Library's Drop-In Chess for Adults program on the second Thursday of each month in the Winn Room from 3-5 p.m.)
