Play Fairy: Creative Play for Kids

Come enjoy a magical free play zone at the Library! In her first ever Library appearance, the Play Fairy will create an open-ended play land for children of all ages. Children are invited to experience the joys and complexities of life through play in a safe environment. Using loose parts to encourage deep exploration, children are guided by their own curiosity as they play, build, and create freely. This unstructured play supports confidence, socialization, and pure imagination.

Libby DeGregorio is the creator of Play Fairy. She is an educator and playworker in San Diego with a background in early childhood education, biology, and design. Inspired by the philosophy of unobtrusive playwork, she strives to be supportive yet invisible, allowing children the freedom to explore their inner and outer self. She’s passionate about building community and creating spaces where children are trusted and feel empowered to lead.
