Program Description

Event Details

May is Mental Wellness Month, and Safe Harbor is presenting a speaker series on mental-health topics. On May 3, it's PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder) Family and Caregiver support. This free presentation will focus on the impact of PTSD on family members and caretakers, and how loved ones can identify a need for more help.

The speaker for this presentation is Lt. Julianne Demery, PsyD, who is a U.S. Navy Clinical Psychologist, Division Officer for Adult Outpatient Mental Health in San Diego, and specializes in trauma treatment. Her husband retired from active duty after 23 years and her son is a Coronado High School senior. She has first-hand awareness of the impacts that combat-related trauma has on family members, friends, and coworkers. Her husband's aviation unit deployed multiple times to the Middle East and they, their coworkers, and friends have dealt with the impacts of combat exposure, PTSD, and suicide.

Registration is recommended (but not required). To register: https://safeharborcoronado.org/upcoming-workshops/p/friends-family-speaker-series-ptsd
