Through Their Eyes Book Club is a biography and memoir book club. The 2nd Tuesday of each month, we will read and discuss a biography or memoir.
For September we will be reading A Cup of Water Under My Bed: A Memoir by Daisy Hernández. This memoir tells the story of a Colombian-Cuban daughter's rebellions and negotiations with the women who raised her and the world that wanted to fit her into a cubbyhole.
Daisy Hernández is the coeditor of Colonize This! Young Women of Color on Today's Feminism and the author of her newest book, released this year, The Kissing Bug: A True Story of a Family, an Insect, and a Nation's Neglect of a Deadly Disease.
