Cellist Lars Hoefs and pianist Aline Alves come back to Southern California from Brazil, presenting their Villa-Lobos Festival. They will play a program entitled "Music of Venezuela and Brazil" on Friday, January 12 at 1:00 p.m. in the Winn Room at Coronado Public Library. This is the second of three Villa-Lobos Festival concerts on Coronado. (The first concert takes place on Friday, January 5 at 1:00 p.m. in the Winn Room, and the third concert Saturday, January 27 at 7:30 p.m. in the Grand Room at the John D. Spreckels Center.)
The Blue Rose Trio will play music from Venezuelan composer Paul Desenne inspired by the poetry of Borges; Villa-Lobos’ radiant and exotic Fantasia Concertante; and selections from the trio’s recently released album “Brazilian Landscapes."
The trio are: Rose Chen, piano; Karl Pasch, clarinet; Lars Hoefs, cello.
This concert is free and no reservations are required. Seating is first-come, first-served, general admission.
