Coronado Community Read Event: Tinker Tuesday - Ruler Art

Join us for this special Tinker Tuesday kicking off the 2021 Coronado Community Read event for kids. This year's read is The Day You Begin by Jacqueline Woodson, illustrated by Rafael Lopez. As an homage to the rulers Lopez incorporates into the illustrations of the book, we will be decorating our own festive paper rulers in a way that reflects our individuality. Rulers will be available at the circulation desk starting Monday, January 25^th. Then tune in on February 2^nd, as we decorate our rulers creating ruler process art with supplies commonly found at home! Don’t forget to turn your child's ruler in at the circulation desk when it’s completed so it can be displayed in the children's area!

Tinker Tuesdays is a hands-on educational program that allows children to explore, create, design, and problem-solve using STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) concepts.
