The Coronado Public Library offers an art class for kids on the second Saturday of each month. Children of all ages are welcome. Instructor Rebekah Kobs will present the art lessons, including a bit of art history in each one. Registration is not required.

In this class, Rebekah will be teaching illustrative art using alcohol markers, with a focus on W. W. Denslow, the illustrator famous for The Wizard of Oz artwork.

About the instructor:

An artist from the time she could hold a pencil, Rebekah has taken and taught multiple art classes. She holds a degree in Sociology from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. A Navy veteran, Rebekah traveled abroad with the military and took the opportunity to learn from those destinations' techniques in their art as inspiration. Her mediums vary depending on the piece, though acrylic, oil, and chalk are a few of her favorites. She  lives in Coronado with her husband and children and her most recent work can be seen at Village Elementary, Liberty Station, and a series coming soon to Emerald C Gallery in town. She is passionate about inspiring children and adults by cultivating their desire to pursue art.
