Tinker Tuesdays: Galaxy Spin Art

For this Tinker Tuesday we will be using salad spinners to create fun galaxy spin art! Spin art is a process where an item is decorated with paint and spinning the object. The paint flies around using centrifugal force making cool patterns. Centrifugal force is an apparent force that acts outward on a body moving around a center, arising from the body’s inertia. It’s a fancy definition, but centrifugal force is something we feel every day. We experience it when we round a corner in a car, we see it in the spin cycle of a washing machine, or when children ride on a merry-go-round.
