Coronado Public Library, in partnership with the Coronado Island Film Festival, presents FILM FORUM CORONADO, taking place the first and third Wednesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. in the library's Winn Room. Film expert Ralph DeLauro provides a brief introduction to each film and leads a discussion afterwards, often including pointers about how lighting or camera angles contribute to a scene’s mood or propel the story.

September 17: Patterns (1956, G, 83min)

Rod Serling (Twilight Zone) weaves a complex tapestry of corporate America’s predatory nature - the ruthless ambition, shady ethics and  industry power plays. A recently hired engineer for an industrial conglomerate (Van Heflin) faces a moral quandary between his personal ambitions and his concern for the disintegrating executive (Ed Begley) he’s being groomed to replace. The cast also includes Everett Sloane, Beatrice Straight and Elizabeth Wilson.
