FILM FORUM CORONADO: "The Hawks and the Sparrows"

Coronado Public Library, in partnership with the Coronado Island Film Festival, presents FILM FORUM CORONADO, taking place the first and third Wednesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. in the library's Winn Room. Film expert Ralph DeLauro provides a brief introduction to each film and leads a discussion afterwards, often including pointers about how lighting or camera angles contribute to a scene’s mood or propel the story.

October 5: The Hawks and the Sparrows (1966, 90 min, Italian with English subtitles)

Controversial Pier Paolo Pasolini directed this subversive comic odyssey focused on a father (Italian screen legend Toto) and his slow-witted son who take a time-traveling stroll through life accompanied by a talking "left-wing intellectual" crow spouting Marxist philosophies and social critiques.
